The following information explains the process that Shayes Designs uses when exploring opportunities with a new client. This process covers all design needs whether it be a simple design consultation, full service design and construction and everything in between.
1. Discovery Call
After reviewing your inquiry, we’ll schedule a 15-minute discovery call to learn more about you and your project. We’ll review the Shayes Designs process to ensure that we are a good fit for what you are wanting to accomplish, what the next steps will entail if we decide to work together, and more.
2. Meet & Greet
Once we feel we’re aligned and a great fit, we’ll schedule a virtual meet and greet. This will give us an opportunity to review your project, see a quick sample presentation, get an introduction into the next steps processes and the Shayes Designs experience, discuss financial expectations, and answer any questions you might have at this point. Open and honest communication is valued, and this meeting sets the stage for transparency throughout your project.
3. On-site Visit
We’ll meet onsite and walk through your space to discuss the full scope of work in detail for up to two hours. Through questions and conversations, we’ll dig deep to uncover your style, understand how you use your home or space, and discover how updated design could elevate the way you live and function. I will take detailed photos and measurements, provide you with thorough questionnaires, and ask you for inspiration images to hone in on your design dreams. While our first two meetings are complimentary, this meeting will include a fee to cover the time and expertise that goes into your onsite visit.
4. Scope of Work Presentation*
Next, we’ll create a proposal of services for your approval. Using our expertise from past projects, we’ll provide you with a design fee so precise, we’ll never ask you to pay more for our custom design services beyond our initial quote. The proposal will also include our fee structure, policies, and contract, to ground our working relationship in trust and communication from the start.
5. Trade Day*
On trade day, we schedule dedicated teams of tradespeople to visit your site and meet with you to estimate and troubleshoot the work to be completed in alignment with our design concepts. Ensuring the execution of your vision runs smoothly and on time is a top priority at Shayes Designs.
6. Design Presentation*
Once design development is complete, we’ll schedule another meeting for your custom design presentation. We’ll review everything we’ve created for your space including design boards, floor plans, renderings (if applicable), product samples, and finishes. We’ll walk you through the inspiration, color palette, furnishings, fixtures, artwork and materials we’ve sourced for your project. We’ll review pricing and proposed timelines for project completion, and if necessary, make revisions for you to approve.
7. Procurement and Project Management*
Once the design is approved, we’ll begin procuring your selections and managing all orders from start to finish. Throughout procurement and trade work, our team will continue to manage the project in a detailed and proactive manner. This includes ensuring that all items arrive in perfect condition, trade work is specified and completed to our high standards, and deliveries are conducted without incident, all while working to keep the project on-schedule and on-budget.
8. Installation*
Once your items have been delivered, inspected and approved, we’ll schedule the installation at your home or space. Working closely with you and our trusted tradespeople, we’ll make sure every piece is installed correctly and styled to perfection. And then comes the best step of all — when you’re free to settle into a space you love and start making the most of life at home.
